Towards the End of the Sword
If you were to tell me 5 years ago that I would write an entirely original 3-part screenplay I would have laughed in your face.
If you had told me that 2 years ago when I started writing the background that would become the 3-part screenplay I still would have laughed in your face.
But here I am… 2/3’s of the way through my original 3-part screenplay… and honestly, I’m a little saddened about it.
I feel great because something that’s existed only in my brain is now something more than that… and at the same time it makes me sad. It’s almost like I want it to not end. I think it’s because it’s percolated for so long in my brain that it’s become its own entity.
So, now I’m of two thoughts.
Of course, I want to finish writing this. It’s a story that I love. It’s a story that I think is really good. It’s something that I think should be told.
Of course, the inevitable question is: Once it’s done, where do you go from there? Well, there’s the editing process which will keep the story going, if only in a minor way.
Thankfully I have 5 other stories that need to be told. And while I’m looking forward to telling them, I’ll still be sad about having this story come to an end.
