However, if you’re looking for freebies, that is the place to go. All of the large corporate booths are giving away something. The Showtime/CBS booth had a schedule of different giveaways they were having at random points throughout the day. The ones I saw were for an Elementary cinch sack, Showtime bag and for Showtime pins. Fox was handing out free poster tubes (handy) and ginormous FX bags with Archer on one side and Wilfred on the other. Viz was handing out Neon Alley cinch sacks, Blue Exorcist media screen cleaners, and Shonen Jump Alpha bags. Legendary Pictures were handing out posters and shirts. Those are the ones that I knew about. I saw that Millenium Studios were handing out Expendables 2 stickers, shirt and buttons.

After spending a while in the dealer’s room it was time to meet up with a local friend to get dinner. We went to a place that had Japanese street food. It was tasty. I got takoyaki… which I love. It’s so tasty. Even as I think about it now… I could go for some more. It was nice to see that friend again. It’s been a couple of years since she moved to San Diego from San Francisco. It was a nice dinner in an interesting place with tasty, tasty sake. After dinner we returned to the convention for our last panel of the night.
And that last panel for the night was an awesome bit of nostalgia. Back when I was attempting to finish college before I needed to work full-time in order to live I used to see flyers for Spike and Mike’s Sick and Twisted Festival of animation. I never had the chance to see one of them. I believe that they were doing them at the Castro theater in San Francisco. The point being that I had always wanted to go to one, but I never had the opportunity to go to one. When I saw on the schedule that there was going to be a Spike and Mike’s Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation at Comic Con.

It was awesome. The Spike and Mike’s crew was there and they were doing it gauntlet style. That means that it was a show of boos to decide if that animation continued or ended. It was actually an interesting and amusing way of watching animation. There were a couple of shorts that I wanted to see where they were going and never got the chance to. Most the ones booed out are ones that I agreed with. It includes a short called “Hot Shit”. After the first 5 puns made in the short, I wanted it to be over.
We wanted to try and make it for the full 2 hours, but after about an hour or so we were tired and had to go back to the hotel to sleep. We waited in an incredibly long line waiting for the bus and talked to the people behind us who were also from the Bay Area. It was nice to talk to other people from the same edge of the world we were from. They told us that Thursday night there was an hour and a half wait to get on to a shuttle. Apparently the upped the number of shuttles. I think we waited about 30 minutes at most to get back to the hotel and get some sleep. Once we were there, it was lights out.
